    Description

After 3 years of research, development, community feedback, and end-user enhancement, we're proud to offer the third version of the open-source sequential shift light. This
    unssembled kit
comes with everything you need to get started - ready to solder and install! Featuring a comprehensive menu system to customize your shift-light, rpm zone colors, smoothing, brightness adjustment, animations, and much more! This unit ships with the latest Shift Light software pre-loaded and bench-tested.
All wires, connections, and components wired and ready for assembly!
    Improvements from V2 include
+ Upgraded, Faster LEDs (APA102C Dotstar) replace old WS2812B
    + New graphic OLED display
+ Vastly improved RPM circuitry, power regulation, and protection
+ New Animations (out-to-center now included)
    + Optimized code and calculations
    + Auto-shut off
+ USB output and dim icons
Simply connect the RPM Input wire to a 0-12V Square wave (RPM signal) from your vehicles ECU or aftermarket ignition system. Requires a switched +12V power supply.  In some instances you can tap your stock tachometer RPM signal or ignition coil. Each application will be different, so do your research to find out which approach is best for you.
    Note:
This kit comes with 16 of the APA102C LED's in a single strip. If you need less, simply cut the strip on the dotted lines. If you need more, simply add the additional APA102C leds to your shopping cart and we'll ship the total number in one, continuous length.

Each kit is hand-built per order and bench tested. Please allow an extra 2-3 days of processing time to build your unit and test it.
    A note on LEDs:
The APA102C LEDs draw approximately 60mA per LED at full-brightness white. Each color (RGB) draws 20mA per LED. This means
the maximum recommended number of LEDs is 25
if you plan to display 100% white.  If you know that your application will not require 100% white, either because you choose a different color or reduce the brightness, feel free to order more. Keep in mind, it's common for applications in direct-sunlight (ex: motorcycles) to prefer 100% white during the shift-flasher, as it outputs the most light and is easier to see.
