Boards are tapered on both ends.
Board has two pockets cut-out handles.
Boards have a radius on all ends and in pocket cut-out handles (all the corners have a radius expect for tapered ends.) This feature does not compromise the board strength, makes for gentler placement, and protects your clothing so they do not snag or rip.
Our boards are sealed with a minimum of 10 protective layers/coats of shellac to enable easier sliding/transfer.

What is a Transfer board.  It is a device used to bridge the space between a wheelchair to a bed, toilet, shower seat, or a car, to facilitate independent or assisted transfers of the patient from onces wheelchair.
HOW TO USE YOUR TRANSFER BOARD:
Position one end of the board under you. (Your starting point) and the other end directly across from you (Your destination point) that you want to transfer to such as a bed, car, shower, whatever you are transferring onto from your wheelchair. Our boards are long enough they pretty much level out (No more transferring at an angle, no more struggling and more risking any falls.
Just a little back story, why I created these 4 Foot transfer boards.
I have a form of Muscular Dystrophy known as Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 3 and as of 2012 after a fall and braking my right tibia.  I am now permanently confined to a wheelchair.  I had purchased few of those small transfer boards at my local pharmacy / medical supply store. After many many falls with those small boards or the board would catch on a pocket and I would fall on the floor. (I don't know how many times I had to 911, non-emergency 911, to have the fire department and or the paramedics come out, to pick me up off the floor and put me back into my wheelchair.) The fact is these companies that make these small 24"- 30" boards do not understand that every disabled persons disability is different.  These small boards, in my personal opinion are dangerous to the person using them.
So I made a better transfer board.
The tapered ends of the boards make it easy for placement to slide under you while sitting in your wheelchair and are ready to make your transfer, to your bed, car, shower seat, etc. And they are the perfect width that gives you enough leg room / leg movement to make a transfer.  Lets face it most everyone's bed sits a little higher then the top of the seat of our wheelchairs. The 4 foot length of the boards makes it easier to slide "up hill." And allows you to have enough leg room when sliding out of the wheelchair to a bed and vice versa.  Rather then having the wheelchair at an odd degree, this eliminates any risk of falling because you happen to be, "sliding up hill and at an angle" that you would experiencing with those ridiculously small 24"-30" boards.
Our boards are all around better in every way imaginable than the current marketed boards. Our boards are longer, stronger and made to last. And our boards are Made In America.
