RARE AND EXOTIC ORIGINAL DEER HEAD STUDIO SCULPTURE
BY HELGE CHRISTOFFERSEN OF DENMARK
HAND CRAFTED IN THE 1940s/1950s
OFFERED FOR SALE FROM A PRIVATE COLLECTION!
This elegant, sleek table top stag/deer sculpture was hand modeled and hand decorated by none other than
the well-known Danish sculpture, Helge Christoffersen! This piece was created in his own private studio.
Helge Christoffersen (1925-1965) was an accomplished Danish sculptor. He trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
Afterwards, he was affiliated with Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Factory for many years. During his distinguished career,
HC worked with artists like Einar Utzon-Frank, Rudolph Tegner, J.F. Willumsen and Jais Nielsen. In 1954, he established
his own private studio
from where he freelanced for a number of famous Danish studios such as Søholm
and Hjorth Ceramics, both on the island of Bornholm.
This original Danish studio art piece is made out of glazed terracotta earthenware. It is hand painted with several
lovely shades of green and has
mint green highlights, accented with black.
The glaze is very glossy and has a green tint to it.

This stag sculpture is rare. I have searched the internet and can't find another one like it!
This contemporary collectible stands 12.5 inches (almost 32 centimeters) tall
It measures 6.75 inches wide (17 centimeters) from side to side, tip of one ear to tip of the other ear.
The base of the neck measures 3.5 inches by 4.5 inches (9 centimeters by 11.5 centimeters)
It is heavy and weighs 3 pounds 6 ounces US, UNPACKED.
THIS SCULPTURE IS INCISED WITH THE MONOGRAM "HC" on the back bottom of the deer's neck
and stamped Denmark on the underside.
