    Description

Judaea Bar Kokhba Revolt AE Small Bronze NGC XF RARE.
Here we have an incredibly historic coin from the Bar Kokhba Revolt between 132-135 AD. These coins were struck by Simon Bar Kokhba and his men, leading a rebellion against the Romans. The obverse depicts a palm tree, with the legends reading "Eleazer the Priest", reverse depicts a bunch of grapes with the legends reading "Year One of the Redemption of Israel". Perfect centering with amazing detail and beautiful patina. To find an example of the small bronze perfectly centered and of this variety (Hendin 1380) is a challenge, especially above the grade of VF. The coin somehow got dislodged from two of the four prongs inside the slab. In October of last year, a lower grade example with worse centering sold for around 0 including buyers fee at a Kunker sale.
