The single
Ortofon OM Super Single Cartridge with Elliptical Stylus
is designed for mounting onto Ortofon headshells and includes the OM 10 Elliptical stylus preinstalled.
The Super OM 10 boasts some updates that result in improved linearity, higher channel separation, and reduced distortion, with extended frequency range and phase linearity. All Super OM models have the same highly rigid, resonance-free body, construction, and magnetic circuitry, making them compatible with other OM Super styli, such as the OM Super 20, 30, and 40.
The Super OM cartridges have been designed based on the OM lightweight system with three major improvements:
By using computer simulations, a natural pivot point of the system was pinpointed with unprecedented accuracy, while achieving an optimum oscillation balance, which results in improved linearity, higher channel separation, and reduced distortion
Updated techniques were developed and applied, which hollow pole pins with a slit less than 1mm diameter, thus significantly reducing eddy current losses caused by magnetic hysteresis. This technology extends the frequency range and improves phase linearity
OM Super cartridge body is manufactured from a Noryl (plastic and glass compound), which ensures high rigidity and freedom from resonances
All Super OM models have the same body construction and magnetic circuitry allowing them to be compatible with OM Super 20, 30, and 40 styli
