Natural tourmaline probably of African origin.  Gem measures 10.1x7.5x4.7 in a mixed oval cut, and has light colorless inclusions that are less prominent than seen in the pictures. It weighs 2.25 carats.  Nice quality gem with cranberry color, and little shift in hue between various lighting sources.  Gem has a very narrow window that should close up in any kind of closed - back setting.
