    Description

Stuffed VW Bug named V. Dubby. This is a sewing project that is
    more than half done
    (and nicely stitched too)
. It finishes as a 3 dimensional VW Bug approximately 11" high and 20" wide. When finished, it has four stuffed wheels, 2 stuffed doors with windows, headlights, windshield, and rear window. The doors and wheels attach with buttons. Fabric used is floral (blue and yellow flowers with green leaves), blue, and yellow cotton. (see photos) I stuffed the body of the car to take photos so you could better understand this project.
Wooden spool of Red Belding Corticelli Bel-waxed mercerized cotton size 50 shade 1169 is included and was used in the project. (you might have to use a newer spool, it's old thread)
There are 15 steps to this project and the first six steps are completed (2 pages, first page done). Step 7 is half done. The doors (and windows) are done (this is two sided with a buttonhole), the wheels are done (also two sided with a buttonhole), the hood (also two sided with a buttonhole) and all the pieces of the body are sewn together.
So what's left to do? Not much. Finish attaching the back windshield and the headlights. Stuff the hood and the doors to the body and attach them. Stuff the car while you close up the bottom. Stuff the wheels and attach to the body. Cut open the buttonholes and attach buttons to the body.
    Buttons are not included.
This is really cute and really hard to describe. I think it was meant for a child's pillow because of the primary colors chosen. It looks like it was a kit that came with pieces precut.
From my friend's estate. Proceeds to her granddaughters' college fund.
Thanks for looking at my other auctions.
