This outstanding quality 1920's creation in massive machine turned aluminum slab and patinated cast bronze measures app. 5" tall x 11 1/2" across and has a center socket 1 5/16" diameter x 3 3/4" deep.  Weighing in at 24 pounds (before packaging), it likely was intended as a flag standard and the quality and materials put one very much in mind of the studio of Walter Von Nessen.  You will note dirt, and scratches and edge nicks to the aluminum base.  It has no discernible marks.
