William Meyerowitz Mid Century/Brutalist/Abstract/Figural Sculpture.
Meyerowitz was an important mid-century New York artist with works featured in places such as the Smithsonian American Art. He often depicted Jewish life on New York City’s Lower East Side.
Excellent condition. Sculpture rests upon a stone base with two metal dowels, but is not affixed to them and can be lifted off and caution should be used when moving it.
Approx 7 3/4" length x 3 1/5" wide x 11 5/8" Tall (these are measurements with the base)
Weighs just over 7 pounds.
I'm not sure if this is a cast made by the original artist, or if made by another source. There is a hard to read signature along with other intials or trademark (see pics). This piece does match all the other ones that I found sold or for sale online.
